My griddle won't light

If your griddle won't light there are some steps, based on the type of ignition system, to troubleshoot this.

Griddles with battery-powered igniter boxes

Sometimes igniter parts can shift during shipping. In most cases, functioning parts will stop working effectively because they are out of position.
First, please check your igniter battery. Try installing a fresh AA battery as sometimes they can be unpredictable, and then ensure that the positive + side is facing out towards you.
Next, if you lift up your griddle top and look at the front of the burners, you will see L-shaped igniter needle(s) pointing at the front of your burner(s). Make sure the end of the needle is roughly 1/4” to 1/8” away from the burner tube, pointing at one of the holes. If the needle is in the wrong position, disconnect or close the fuel source and bend the needle slightly with your fingers until it is the proper distance away. Now, with your hands off the igniter needle, press the igniter button and you should see a blue spark jump from the igniter needle to your burner tube.  Here’s a video on how to adjust igniter needles.
If that doesn't solve the issue, please submit a requist so we can assist you. If you haven’t already, please make sure to register your griddle to activate your warranty.
In the meantime, you can still ignite your griddle manually to cook. Put your burners on low and hold a long grill lighter or long match to ignite the propane.

Griddles with Piezo igniter valves

If the needle is in the wrong position, disconnect or close the fuel source and bend the needle slightly with your fingers until it is the proper distance away. Now, with your hands off the igniter needle, turn your burner knob until you hear the piezo click. You should see a blue spark jump from the igniter needle to your burner tube.  Here’s a video on how to adjust igniter needles.
